William B. Coley, properly, “Father of Modern Day Immunotherapy,” was not accepted by his colleagues and experienced extreme opposition and ridicule. When your work doesn’t fit in the current landscape for whatever reason, maybe ahead of its time, too novel of an innovation, doesn’t follow the rules, attracts the wrong attention or ridiculed and then stolen.
